Welcome to the University of Illinois! There are countless ways to take part in the Illini experience, but we at Psi U believe our common vision of FRIENDSHIP AND BROTHERHOOD make not for just a four year experience, but a life-long one. With over a century of history at the University of Illinois, the Omicron chapter has produced generations of members who embody these twin goals. You get out of the fraternal experience what you put into it; Psi U is interested in prospective members who want to get involved right away. 313 East Armory Avenue is a “home away from home” for all our brothers; come see if Psi U is right for you.
- We recruit men of character who look to make a difference in the chapter and on campus during their undergraduate years.
- The brotherhood is a diverse, select group; our members hail from many backgrounds and hometowns and study a variety of majors.
- Psi U offers leadership opportunities across the spectrum, be it a chairmanship like philanthropy, running our Scholarship Grant Program, or serving on exec.
- Our alumni association is a great networking resource, and brothers may access scholarship resources from both the alumni association and our international’s foundation.
- We proudly sponsor a scholarship grant program for incoming freshmen men – click here for more details. And with the goal of helping brothers afford the high costs of their education, the alumni association funds a wide variety of paid positions – from waiter jobs to our Active Active program, you can earn your keep at Psi U.
- We have a rich history on campus and a roster of distinguished alumni second to none in the fraternal system. In 2010, our chapter celebrated its centennial at the U of I and played host to the Psi U International Convention.
- Known for its distinctive curved shape, our chapter house stands just two blocks from the heart of campus.
- Since 2007 our alumni association has invested several hundred thousand dollars worth of renovations to update the house and lead us into our second century on campus. Take a look at our progress whose goal is to make the house “like a dorm, only better.”
- The Omicron Chapter received the following awards at this past summer’s 168th Psi Upsilon Convention held in Washington, D.C.: the Clasped Hand Award for Service and Philanthropy and the Award of Distinction for initiating the largest spring pledge class in our history and being on pace to having over 100 members. This marks the third year in a row that the Omicron won the Clasped Hand Award, as well as going “back-to-back” with the Award of Distinction.
- Psi U makes your college years fun (we have one of the best Homecoming weekends on campus) and exciting while preparing you for everything after.
